Maria Grazia Chiuri, Italian designer, born in 1964, is the Creative Director of Christian Dior.
Before assuming this position, Chiuri worked for Fendi (1986-1999) as an Accessories Designer and in Valentino (1999-2016) as Accessories Designer, Accessories Lines Co-Creative Director and Co-Creative Director of the whole brand, always alongside Pierpaolo Piccioli.
She is the first feminine Artistic Director of Dior and the force behind the feminist mindset of the brand.
Even though she is charge of the creative direction of a brand with such heritage as Dior, Chiuri’s designs are made to the modern women and show fashion from a women empowerment point of view.
Her designs have the same foundation as the ones from Christian Dior himself: clothes can bring elegance to women while being playful and radiating joy. Plus, despite respecting heritage and Dior’s codes, as the New Look, she also has a future driven mindset.
